The tournament runs from 1 to 7 February 2027. Thursday and Friday use both Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill Golf Course; Saturday and Sunday are played at Pebble Beach only. A group with different schedules can value hotel flexibility. A group moving together may get far more from one well-chosen residence.
When a hotel is the stronger choice
Hotels work well for couples, very short stays and groups with fragmented arrival and departure times. They also reduce the amount of property management the group has to think about: breakfast, housekeeping, front desk support and individual room access are built into the stay.
For a sponsor or company with staff arriving on different flights and working different schedules, several hotel rooms can be operationally cleaner than forcing everyone into one residence.
When a private home is stronger
A residence becomes valuable when the group wants to operate as a group. Shared breakfast, a common sitting room, off-street parking, private conversations and an evening base can make the week feel far more coherent.
For six to twelve guests, the key is not the advertised sleeping capacity. Check how many adults have a proper bedroom, how many bathrooms are available and whether the common areas are genuinely large enough for the group.
February changes the brief
The Pro-Am is not a midsummer golf week. February on the Monterey Peninsula can be cool and changeable. A house with a strong indoor living area, reliable heating, covered or convenient parking and a comfortable dining setup can be more useful than a spectacular outdoor property whose main appeal is the terrace.
The two-course opening rounds matter
On Thursday and Friday, visitors may split between Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill. The tournament provides course-to-course shuttle transport, but the group's accommodation still has to support different departure times and evening returns.
This is where a hotel can win for a highly fragmented group. It is also where a well-located residence can win for a party moving together, especially if they want a private base before and after the golf.
What about corporate entertaining?
A private home can support a breakfast, board-level conversation or small private dinner where the property rules allow it. That does not mean every residence should become an event venue. Guest limits, parking, noise restrictions, insurance and any HOA or local rules should be checked before assuming additional visitors are permitted.

A useful test before booking
Ask one question: what will the group do between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m.? If everyone disperses to separate dinners and meetings, hotel rooms may be enough. If the group wants to regroup, host clients privately or spend the evening together, the residence begins to earn its place.
